The Family Fun Fair organized by the York Quay Neighbourhood Association, with generous support from the Waterfront BIA, was a tremendous success. More than 600 people joined us on August 14 for an afternoon of food, games, music and community connection. Harbour Square Park was transformed into a lively gathering space, enhanced by colourful posters and decorations.

Parents and their kids met neighbours, caught up with friends and enjoyed activities such as tug-of-war, ball toss and giant Tetris blocks. DJ Papa Easy kept the park energized with great music which prompted a resident to launch an impromptu dance class that helped everyone work off the pizza and cookies.
The event was meticulously planned by the YQNA social committee and delivered by a dedicated group of volunteers led by Natasha Benham. Deputy Mayor Ausma Malik also stopped by and ended up staying the entire afternoon speaking with residents, meeting families and enjoying the festivities. The fair offered much more than free pizza and games. It created an opportunity for neighbours of all ages to spend time together and strengthen their sense of community. Children and parents left smiling, and the enthusiastic response made one thing clear: YQNA is a true neighbourhood organization—that brings people together and looks out for the community.
